Any Irish fliers about?

Wed Jan 25, 2006 7:34 pm

Someone on the flexifoil forums mentioned there were a couple of Irish stunt kite fliers on this forum some where.
Im in Cork myself, plenty of beaches within 20 km's.
I fly stunt, delta stunt, foils duel and single line and a few other bits and pieces.
The kite community is growing due too people taking it up as a stepping stone too kite surfing or land/buggy flying.
Get in touch if you are from Cork or Ireland or visit regulary.
Thanks
Sean.

Hey Sean Glad to see you made it over from Flexifart's website!

Like I say theres Big Davey, his missus the lovely Jo, a guy called keith and myself from the North who meet occasionally for a fly about.

Down your direction is Bastiaan in Kilkenny who flies like a mad thing and will adopt you as his new toy if you aint carefull. (only Kidding B)

I usually visit Dingle a couple of times a year and as I said elsewhere I'll give you a heads up if I am down that way.

Welcome to FA! :D

So it was you Steve that sent me in this direction.I thank you very much.Killkenny is a fair bit from me,but I go to the skatepark there from time too time and bring the kites with me for a fly on the way back at Tramore.
Is there any good kite shops up your area ?
I'm on the lookout for something new too fly, either a light wind stunter or a really good persision kite.

I normally fly at Tramore beach when powerkiting, for trick flying I stay at home, I have a farm so plenty of grass around to fly on. I study at UCC so sometimes we could meet at a beach near you.

Hi guys, having been in Dublin over the weekend I have to admit that I am quite keen to go back. Do you know if it is possible to fly in Phoenix Park or not?

You can although the wind is very distorted, you would be better of going either to the beach or south of Dublin towards the Wicklow mountains, some stunning sites there.

I have another zig if you have spare ones, preferably something in the 3 meter range, or a transfer. I will be in Portadown next saturday, will phone you to make arrangements for your next lesson.

I flew in the Galtee mountains a few years ago. The peace and quiet was stunning. Nobody for miles, just me and my kite - bliss

The Zig

Mon Feb 06, 2006 9:21 am

Zig is the little brother to the Yoz. Both are foils made by Gingliders.com and are top quality.

Mr Gin kinda likes me so I can get my hands on these babies most of the time if anyone expresses an interest.

Not that I ever expect to find you flying Foils Mr Phelps.
