My OSOW day went like this:
arrived at our small field. None of the usual suspects were there, but it was full of parents/children with their aldi kites (it's up - no it isn't - run faster - ...
)
As there was no space I popped the rokkoku into the air, and a couple of friends arrived.
I asked the second "where is your kite then?". "There" he said, pointing at two trees.
Nice one - he had managed to let go of his power kite (some 3meter monster) and the wrist-straps were stuck in one tree, and the kite in another, 30m away.
Anyway, 45 mins and a few scratches later, he, I, the lines and the kite were all safely back on the ground, and I popped open the first beer.
So, we sat around, watched our SLKs flying until we were frozen, and then we all went home.
Summary - not a great day for freestyle, but the aldi-kiters keps us entertained.
At the end we decided that we will have to wait for the right weather (drizzle / rain / frost / snow), before we again have the field to ourselves.
