Your mistake is that you seem to assume that the rantings of an entertainer in search of attention and a higher salary some how reflect the attitudes and beliefs of all Americans.

It's more along the lines of final straw. I just can't take any more of the nonsense coming out of the States anymore, from all sides. It's doing my head in. I think that you have, as a nation, lost your mind.

But equally I don't think anyone should take this seriously or personally. It's not like it matters or anything.

On that there can be no argument! Think that started back in '98 or so.

I'll wade in.

I am currently visiting the states in Chicago for work. I was in tears last night, so happy was I to be home seeing my long lost friends. This morning, I am reading this thread, and I have to agree with Steve. There is a small subset of Americans whose thinking is in anyway affected by the likes of Glen and others like him.

What is scary, disturbing, and frightening is that this guy gets airtime. What's disturbing is how obvious the ruse is. He's allowed to puke his insane rhetoric as though his opinion is based on one legitimate interpretation of reality (versus other versions). This is the first time the whole conspiracy of corporations and money controlling America has so blatantly shown it's raw power, and that's not a good sign. No attempt is being made to make subtle the fact that this rhetoric was used against liberals who opposed Bush in the same way it's now used to attack Obama. Same words (anti-American), same fears, same logic...used to justify Bush's unilateral dismantling of American values (and attack those who opposed it)...used to attack Obama (and attack those who support him)...even though there is virtually NO DIFFERENCE between them. They are confident in their methods and not at all worried that Americans will see through it. Some do, most don't. Those that do are too busy to do anything about it.

Bailouts continue. Torture continues. Gitmo continues. Wars continue. Remote control killing continues. NOTHING has changed, except the advertising campaign used to sell it to the world.

What this ultimately means is that both sides are right. Bush was a criminal and anti-American. Obama is a criminal and anti-American. They are both part of (or were at least employed by) the same apparatus of wealth milking the world of all it's worth, common man and common good bedamned. Divide and conquer. As long as we don't wake up to this fact and keep fighting amongst ourselves, they win. Guys like Beck and Rush will always be well-paid until this dynamic is broken for good.

Thanks Obi. Its good to see that not everyone is wondering through life totally oblivious to what's really going on in the world around them. ;)

Wouldn't a reasonable question be, why would Mr. Beck make that statement?

The president and members of his administration, have shown that they are increasingly thin skinned, when it comes to criticism. They have let Fox news get under their skin.

Did it really help the administration, when the White House, Director of Communications went on CNN and complained about Fox? Does it really help that the administration will not send any representatives to appear on Fox when they are the the #1 rated news show on cable.

The only cable network, to get more viewers then Fox is USA, CNN is 22nd and the Presidents favorite network MSNBC is 24th.

Fox News is experiencing astounding growth, under the Obama administration. Robert Murdoch was happy to see the recent criticism by the White House. It means increased ratings.

if all the attention that the administration has given Fox News is actually increasing their ratings, maybe they need a different approach.

Because it was in his script.
I'd suggest you go back and read Obi's post again.

If I am reading Obi's argument correctly, corporations and money which control America have attacked the good and righteous liberals who opposed President Bush and are now attacking President Obama.

Mr. Beck and Mr. Limbaugh are the spokes people of this unholy alliance of Corporations and Money.

Mr. Limbaugh, was part of a group that was interested in buying an American Football Team. When it was leaked to the press, the good and righteous Liberal press, proceeded to attribute ugly quotes to Mr. Limbaugh. The only problem Mr. Limbaugh never said those things. When that was pointed out to the press, their response was Oh, well he has said other divisive things. Mr. Limbaugh has been on the air for 20 years, 3 hours a day, and this is all they can come up with? A pack of lies.

David Axlerod among other White House officials were out yesterday on the Sunday talk shows, asking CNN and others not to treat Fox News as a real news organization.

Anita Dunne the White House Director of Communication who went on CNN and complained that Fox News was nothing more then an arm of the Republican Party. I believe that was what Mr. Beck was responding to in the original quote in this post.

Ms. Dunne is now seen in a video saying that Mao Tse-Tung was one of her ideological heroes. Apparently now she is backing off and saying it was a joke. Those zany liberals sure have an odd sense of humor.

Obi at his best so far has never offered anything more then a conspiracy theory. If he has any sources that shows that a pro-business, conservative view point has been detrimental to society, then please post them. I would gladly check them out.
To date his sources have shown him to be nothing more then a fan of the X-Files.

OK, so too much Fox News has made it hard for you to wrap your brain around what you're being told now. Let's try starting with something real simple like the so called "liberal press". NBC is owned by GE. GE is one of the world's largest defense contractors. They make billions every time the US gets involved in a war. Its in the best interest of NBC to "SELL" war to the public. After all, its more profitable to GE than selling appliances. Now do you really think NBC is "liberal"? Did it ever occur to you that the "entertainers" on NBC might be playing a role? Kind of like the entertainers on Fox are.
Obi isn't peddling any conspiracy theory. Obama works for the same neo-fascist enemies of America that Bush worked for. In Washington Republicans and Democrats work together. Sure they put on their "Dog & Pony Show" to keep the mindless masses fighting amongst themselves. But unlike the mindless masses, they remember "divide & conquer". All you have to do is keep your head buried in the sand. Keep harping on the liberal press. And keep hating your fellow countrymen. But FFS whatever you do, don't start thinking. You might find out that Rupert Murdock and Steve Capus are friends in real life. And both members of the CFR.

clear as mud :D

A friend of mine graduated with a degree in journalism last summer. the job market is very tight. she is willing to relocate.

So I mentioned, what about fox news for a job?

she's tailor made for the fox team. she is a natural blond. she's tall
and looks great sitting on a couch with a short skirt with her legs
crossed. she has zero creditability in the news business. she's really
cute. some would call her a Fox. LOL. she's kind of goofy, and if needed she can cry on cue during human interest stories (maybe she could be a Glen Beck co-host?). she can easily be bullshitted (hence her Bimbo label). she has a decent natural rack and drives a new model saab, she's perfect for Fox tv.

The bigger question is, since she actually completed college with a degree
in Journalism, would that immediately disqualify her as a potential
female Fox News employee? it's hard to gauge just exactly what fox news really is. they claim their not journalists. however after watching fox news this afternoon is it possible theyre just satirists? Is the Glen Beck show another comedy show spin off of Jon Stewart's production company?

gettin cheesy like a bag doritos

Well, the recent voting/reacting/speaking regarding health care reform should be an easy enough project for you who still believe in the goodness of America.

Those who are funded by health care in anyway speak out against the public option as 'not a good idea' at best and 'evil socialism' at worst. It's not by coincidence that these two groups use the same basic talking points.

If you can still honestly say that anything I am posting sounds like a conspiracy theory as a WAY TO DISAGREE OR DOUBT, you have read zero zip none history at all. History is conspiracy. Why not now? International law? Lessons of WWII? 9/11? Please. Buy yourself a clue, and read a bit.

Wealth controls the power in America, and until that changes, wealth will continue to rule and govern in a way that gets the wealthy more wealth. Is it a conspiracy? You bet. Just like the other 'crazy' one's you lump all together in one dismissing swoop.

Here's one that will blow your mind: YOU ARE MEANT TO DISMISS ALL CONSPIRACY THEORIES. This way, you also miss the truth. This all seems so easy to me, it's extremely hard to understand how you can be so close to getting it, but then dismiss the answer to which your brain's own logic leads you.

Simple formula, if you have the time...

Embrace every theory as truth, for a while. Then turn against it, completely, for a while. Then go back the other way, for a while. Then back the other way for a while.

If you put yourself in both camps for a while and shout "Yay" for a little while, you eventually reach a point of average; a point that tells you what you've learned.

So for me...

Planet X Nibiru crowd....F**k off! Please, seriously. Just go away.
Faked Moon Landing crowd....F**k off! You can see it through a telescope!
RODS crowd...Most likely insects, OK? OO-kay?
UFO crowd...Ummm, not sure yet; toughie.
NWO crowd....Ummm, read the daily news.
JFK was shot with a BB gun because he didn't pay his milk bill....Ask Bill Hicks! He didn't pay his milk bill to the Fed, already!
9/11 crowd...Mossad refuse to answer my e-mails so I'm getting nowhere on that one! I've asked Sibel Edmonds but she's been gagged again. ;)

Me and Obi are going to hell for this I swear!

I just thought I'd let you know how this is going. :) Pretty well.

I've stopped watching CNN (which is no loss), moved a load of bookmarks to a new folder Here Be Dragons, avoided The Daily Show (this is more of a pity 'cos it is well done) and generally skipped channels when anything about the US comes on the radio/TV. I'd rate my overall mood as much less in the OhForFuckSake category. I'm sure there's still plenty to be outraged about going on but ignorance is bliss.

That said, it is still well nigh impossible to avoid domestic US news so pervasive is that nation's influence. I did run across one story that briefly raised my spirits when I read that the FBI had shot and killed a man with an apparently made up name, who had spent years spouting violent anti-government rhetoric and even went so far to suggest a separate state-within-a-state for his "followers" until it turned out not to be Rush Limbaugh after all but someone called Luqman Ameen Abdullah.

If things do take an upswing, someone let me know please. I miss The Daily Show.

Mike.
