HQ Breeze

Mon Nov 03, 2003 1:01 pm

It's been my birthday last week and I received a HQ Breeze from my wife. Well ok I bought it.

Can't wait to get out there and try it out. Trouble being is that I now need a very light wind. Guess what it was doing yesterday!

Anyone else had the joy of light wind flying with this kite?

This should be known as "The first Law of Kiting"...

hmm... Bored Andy has an idea for a new thread...

Sorry Peter, hijacked on post one and I have nothing constructive to add... Let us know how it goes though, I'm mulling over a LW kite at the moment.

A little. It's another in a quite long line of "OK" light weight kites from HQ. For a casual flyer it'd be fine. If you're getting more involved you may find the built-to-a-price compromises a problem (mainly frame).

Seemed fine to me. Adds some low wind flight for low £s.

I've seen it flown as a light wind team kite on 120'+ lines and it Did Not look at ease.

Hi, takes a bit of getting used to but when you are it will do a lot of tricks, you will find that in order for it to fly you will need just that bit of wind.
Fade, turtle, Lazy susan, axel, 180, 540, side slides no problem just need to get the feel for it. I got very frustrated with mine for a while because I bought it as a 0-1 Bft kite and I did not manage to fly it, then one day I had this very steady light wind you get on a beach around sunset and I flew for 2 hours flat. Great experience and since then it comes out of the bag more often.

Choices choices choices, and a almost autistic tendency to have Benson kites, I got the Phantom Elite Ultra light, a different class, I want to have only a small number of kites and with the Airbow coming...
For some one that is looking for a good first UL it is a great kite.
Hope you are happy enough with that,

Have you got a delivery date on the Airbow yet?

I think I could be happy with a Benson-only kite bag too.
