Winner Takes All Raffle for Eurocup!

Tue Jun 23, 2009 8:16 pm

I'm organising a Gadget Show style "winner takes all" raffle to raise money to enable us to hold the STACK Eurocup in the UK. We are going to be selling £1 raffle tickets at the remaining UK festivals throughout the summer, and the draw will take place at Eurocup in September.

The list of items raised so far is

Carl Robertshaw Fury kite donated by Carl Robertshaw
Carl Robertshaw Fury .85 kite donated by Carl Robertshaw
A Photograph from James Robertshaw Photography
Spirit of Air Razor kite donated by The Highwayman
Spirit of Air Aurora Box single line kite donated by The Highwayman
Newtech Dragonfly single line kite donated by The Highwayman
HQ Old Nick single line kite donated by The Highwayman
Aerobie Skylighter Light up Frisbee donated by The Highwayman
Sky Lantern Chinese Lantern donated by The Highwayman
A kite flying lesson with Close Encounters
Karl Longbottom Pterodactyl single line kite donated by Karl Longbottom
A Photography Portrait session and 9" x 6" print with Caron Photography
A STACK Hoodie donated by STACK
A Eurocup T-shirt donated by STACK
A roll of Shanti Spectra line donated by Craig at Fractured Axel
A pair of straps (handles) donated by Craig at Fractured Axel
A large Chinese dragon kite donated by Airdynamics

As you can see, we've been lucky enough to have a pile of donations so far, and other kite makers and shops have been contacted as well.

I'm announcing this here for 3 reasons.

1. If anyone can donate anything else to the pot I would be extremely grateful - we are in the process of contacting kite makers and shops, but if I have missed you out, or haven't got to you yet, please feel free to contact me by PM.

2. We are holding a competition amongst people selling raffle tickets - whoever sells the most tickets at festivals will get to go to Eurocup for free! So if you want to go for free, please PM me and volunteer to sell tickets at any of the festivals on http://www.kitecalendar.co.uk/ (I will set you up with tickets and collection buckets with a list of prizes).

3. If anyone wants a raffle ticket (or 5 ;-)) let me know :-)

(I'll update the list here so keep checking back - updated 29/6/9)

We don't, of course, have to limit ourselves to selling at kite festivals...

Give me a book, I will sell them from my shop and give you all a run for you money.
Gotta fly,

Steve

Generally anyone flying decent kites well will know all the usual suspects, or be able to point you in the right direction.

I've found asking for Keith from Stack makes him appear out of nowhere :P

Just like Mr Ben's shopkeeper :-)

Also, look for STACK banners (they are distributed to some regional reps), FA t-shirts or STACK t-shirts

Or some woman with a huge camera whooping, blowing kisses and yelling support in an embarrassing manner whenever Cameron is in the arena

It just so happens...

OK, here's a thought

I shall wear a fezz when selling tickets at festivals IF we get £10 pledged here within the next 24 hours to either Bristol (through FA or STACK) or to purchasing Eurocup raffle tickets.

Do the PM's I've been getting from generous donors count for that? If they do, we've just more than doubled that :D

Damn, know I should have put £100 :-)

I don't care, I'll happily make a fool of myself for the sake of STACK (like volunteering to be ND for instance)
