Hope this doesnt jinx it. Forecast for Hinkley on Sunday is sunshine, light winds(7mph) dry, temp max 6 degrees. Thats the ten day forcast but at least its a hopefull outlook.

(With my track record this year, it will probably be 8mph on the 18th & blowing a gale on the 25th now. ;))

Now why did I go and say that. ;)

Here's hoping that the current forecasts prove notoriously unreliable. :?

Think positive boys. The BBC weather is showing much lower winds particularly in the afternoon. Ive also spoken to Old Alwin Bertwhistle that famous local weather man. Hes told me that the sparrows are all sat with their backsides facing west which he says is a sign of good things to come. Apparantly if we see them flying north with umbrellas and suitcases we need to worry.

Right then Boys & Girls.... Jon (Jaydub) pm'd me suggesting I have a look at the field to see what condition it's in. So, I've just braved the wind & rain to take a butchers...

Wykin field ain't a field at the mo' - it's more like a lake with random bits of grass sticking out of it. The site doesn't drain well at the best of times & with another inch or so of rain forecast overnight I would suggest it will probably be sometime mid spring before it's anything like usable.

So - seriously, unless you have drysuit, waders or similar I'd take a raincheck on this one. I personally won't be going, and I live less than a mile away - save yourselves a trip & have a lie in instead.

Best Regards
STEVE
