The kite is very well behaved in flight. It has a reasonably firm
pull - somewhat more than a Gemini, but not excessive and provides
good feedback on the lines. It's also a bit more precise than
the Gemini, tracking feels similar to the Outerspace with nice
lines and good sharp corners. It's no Tramontana though.
Tricking the kite beings out
a nice playful character, with a full repertoire of tricks being
made available to the flyer. Axels are nice and floaty, it flat
spins easily and will pancake and roll into a fade nicely. It
holds a fade well, and is easily backspun. It's not as spinnable
as the Gemini, nor does it rotate as flat (for me) but still very
accessable.
My only reservation was the
kite's tendency to get a line wrapped around the standoff sail
connectors - Replacing those with a studded fitting, rather than
the clip type would reduce this tendency - This isn't restricted
to the New Jam - it's one of my bugbears with the Prism Elixir
as well.
